This book is excellent and profound and provides insights that I have never read anywhere else. I am finally accepting myself as a psychic and an intuitive (the terms are not the same) and my life is improving as a result. This book is liberating! I highly recommend this book, and really, I highly recommend many of Orloff's other books as well. If you are not sure where to start with her many books, I would suggest beginning with "The Empaths' Survival Guide" because it is very accessible IMHO. Whether you think that perhaps you are an empath, a highly sensitive person, a psychic, an intuitive, highly spiritual, a healer, and/or something else that is similar, her books will help a great deal.

I love that she shared how these gifts actually unfold and that you can either nurture them and grow in power and use or deny them and not be enriched by their essence. I needed books to describe what it is really like to encounter the supernatural and fold it into life without losing touch with the ground of reality. When my gifts opened to me it was utterly terrifying. I am so thankful she wrote these books. I bought them all and am reading them all for sound guidance. I don’t like having the gifts because I feel like a freak. She shows us how to incorporate them into our lives with love and care and gives truly useful advice in how to do that. I look forward to more from her. It’s scary when the world opens up as it can. Thankfully we have gifted doctors to give advice which is not rooted in circus and carnival madness. It’s a challenge to become educated without encountering those who are charlitans or fringe.

I just read "Second Sight" cover to cover over a period of 3 days, every waking moment I could put on hands on it. I have never been so immersed in a book. I feel like I have just been shaken from a dream that has made no sense (only it was truly my life) to a whole new awareness of possibilities! I felt like Judith was speaking directly to me, due to relating to many of her experiences, but also because of her conversational writing style, which I very much enjoyed. In "Second Sight", I learned that childhood events I had never understood before could, in fact, be related to intuitive/spiritual experiences. I feel that my life has just turned a corner, and begun a vital chapter in my quest for "why am I here?". To understand and appreciate that I am an intuitive empath, explains pretty much everything about me personally. In my careers as an both an RN and as a Psychotherapist, I now know that my abilities have truly been a part of my healing work and I am further inspired to develop my intuition professionally and personally. I am finally free to say "YES, I AM intuitive" without fear of ridicule, thanks to now having Dr. Orloff as a respected frame of reference for colleagues and clients. While I used to laugh it off whenever I would hear "are you psychic or something?" I now have the courage to respond affirmatively. Thank you, Dr. Orloff, for risking your own credibility so that others can honor and develop their intuitive abilities. I am excited to dig in to all of your books and I will be recommending and integrating them in my work, and with my family and friends. It is not overstated to recognize your work as life-saving, profoundly impacting both the depths, and the methods, of healing lives.I

This is an outstanding book. It is part autobiography, part teaching manual, and each part is excellent. Judith is a natural storyteller who can draw the reader effortlessly into the narrative of her life with each page leaving you wanting to go on to the next. Her story of her journey to integration and wholeness is really a universal one seen through the lens of her particular set of talents and experiences. At a time when many people--indeed, in one sense all humanity--are struggling for a vision of the world that incorporates all of us, not just our physical or psychological natures, Judith's own path to find this vision has meaning and resonance for all of us. Her autobiography alone would be worth the price of the book, but then she goes on to add several chapters of practical instruction, leavened with stories, on how a person can develop not just the psychic side of their nature but really their whole self. As a teacher of paths into wholeness myself, I recognize and applaud what Judith has done here. She has taken a subject around which there is much suspicion, fear and ridicule, and turned it into a blueprint for living in the everyday, natural fullness of one's life and capacities. No "woo-woo" stuff here, but insights from a scientifically trained mind that has done the hard work of integrating the two sides of our nature, the material and the spiritual. I thoroughly recommend this book as a valuable and excellent guide to wholeness.

I've read all of Dr. Judith Orloff's books and recommend every one of them to all the people I can. Her work is so powerful and necessary and has changed my approach to life completely. She has taught me the power of surrender. Second Sight will give you insight into her life as a child growing up and finding her powerful path as an intuitive. All her books are "must reads" in my mind.

The author’s honesty an openness are so inspiring. I learned a great deal from this book. It is so beneficial to read a book that applauds and encourages the metaphysical abilities of humanity. I came away feeling a kinship and with a better understanding of myself and my abilities. This is a book that demands multiple reads. I highly recommend.

About the Author
Bradley R. Schiller has over four decades of experience teaching introductory economics at American University, the University of California (Berkeley and Santa Cruz), the University of Maryland, and the University of Nevada (Reno). He has given guest lectures at more than 300 colleges ranging from Fresno, California, to Istanbul, Turkey. Dr. Schiller's unique contribution to teaching is his ability to relate basic principles to current socioeconomic problems, institutions, and public policy decisions. This perspective is evident throughout Essentials of Economics. Dr. Schiller derives this policy focus from his extensive experience as a Washington consultant. He has been a consultant to most major federal agencies, many congressional committees, and political candidates. In addition, he has evaluated scores of government programs and helped design others. His studies of income inequality, poverty, discrimination, training programs, tax reform, pensions, welfare, Social Security, and lifetime wage patterns have appeared in both professional journals and popular media. Dr. Schiller is also a frequent commentator on economic policy for television, radio, and newspapers. Dr. Schiller received his PhD from Harvard and his BA degree, with great distinction, from the University of California (Berkeley). When not teaching, writing, or consulting, Professor Schiller is typically on a tennis court, schussing down a ski slope, or enjoying the crystal blue waters of Lake Tahoe.

Beginning with the advent of mass democratic politics in the 1940s, a new generation of politician adopted this style, known as "fine," or "beautiful Tamil" (centamil), for its distinct literary virtuosity, poesy, and alluring evocation of a pure Tamil past.

Bernard Bate explores the centamil phenomenon, arguing that the genre's spectacular literacy and use of ceremonial procession, urban political ritual, and posters, praise poetry are critical components in the production of a singularly Tamil mode of political modernity: a Dravidian neoclassicism. From his perspective, the centamil revolution and Dravidian neoclassicism suggest that modernity is not the mere successor of tradition but the production of tradition, and that this production is a primary modality of modernity, a new newness-albeit a newness of old things.
